New Bet Header

Take a look at that shiny new Bet header fresh off the presses! Big shoutout to one of my followers on X, Rick Bond, for whipping up this new logo header and dealing with all my creative changes throughout the process. THE OPENER
New Flex?

Last week I talked about ol’ Cblez going into a sportsbook and posting a video of him being limited or denied a bet at whatever sportsbook he was at. Now this week, new week and another “professional gambler” is posting a video of himself being limited at a sportsbook. I apologize in advance because this video is as annoying as it sounds…

Poker player Sean Perry is pretty well known in the poker world, but now is calling himself the “World’s Best Sports Bettor.” Give me a break. Perry has another video a couple days later where he’s walking around with $500,000 (supposedly) cash at the same Red Rock casino where he tries to bet all that on one game and then again is only able to book a small portion of that. First of all, is this the new kind of flex in Vegas and sports betting world? Post a video of yourself trying to get a bet down and show how the evil sportsbook shot you down and is “scared” of you? I’m seeing these videos pop up so much these days.

But the real question here to ask here is are these sportsbooks limiting these players because they’re scared or are they just sticking to a bet limit cap that they would with all clients? Well, Mr. McQueen has us covered…

Just like McQueen was all over cblez, he’s on Sean Perry’s game too. According to McQueen, Perry goes to Red Rock already knowing the limits and tries to bet an obscene amount on one side and then acts surprised and upset when they limit him to a much smaller bet. Basically it’s all for show and for clout of posting the video online and getting everyone worked up. And I’m with McQueen here…I think this is exactly what Perry is doing. I believe Perry has zero intention to bet all that money. Why would he do this though? For attention and clout obviously, but go figure…Perry (like cblez) is also selling his picks. We are being overrun with fake touts.

McQueen makes a good point here. Perry knows what these sportsbooks limits are…if he really wanted to bet all that money…why doesn’t he just go to a sportsbook like Circa that would likely book that bet? It’s because he’s full of it. Also, if you haven’t noticed a lot of these bets he’s posting end up losing so I wouldn’t be buying his VIP picks.

And another thing…who thinks it’s a good idea to carry around $200,000+ cash in these casinos and then post videos showing you with it and what casino you’re in? Someone call the wet bandits!

TWITTER BEEF
Fezzik vs Right Angle Sports

Folks, we have ourselves a good old fashioned sports betting $10K dinner bet between two touts!

The stage is set. Who says X isn’t a fun app? So sounds like we have an agreement on this bet that RAS has to go 54% or better for 2025-26’s NFL, college football and college basketball seasons. Loser pays for a $10,000 dinner. This was Fezz’s idea because he’s obsessed with RAS for some reason and they called him out on it with their full season records throughout 2024.

Someone get GRP’s notebook out! We may need a couple entire notebooks to cover all these bets. I’m not sure what’s all involved in this Twitter beef or where it even started. I don’t really care, but let’s buckle up to follow how this one plays out in 2025.

PROP BETS
Offensive Lineman for SB MVP?

Speaking of GRP or George Panagakis, he’s been filling up a sheet in his notebook for his Super Bowl prop bets and one of them is wild. He bet Lions offensive tackle Penei Sewell to win Super Bowl MVP at 750-1. This was obviously before the Lions loss last weekend, but what in the bloody hell is this? It’s 750-1, but it’s literally lighting your money on fire. Sewell is a fine player, but I can’t even imagine what game story would have to play out for media members to vote for an offensive lineman for game MVP. Especially if the Lions were winning, they have enough star players on offense that would likely have big days and would win. It’s just an absurd bet. And it had folks getting on GRP this past week.

Hilarious stuff. I love Sammy P coming back at him with the perfect response. GRP defending the bet just because it’s 750-1 reminding me of this great Office clip:

BET ODDS
Big Favorite ML Parlays Strikes Again

You know I hate parlays and look at what Circa cooked up for the divisional round and CFB title game:

Ah yes, a moneyline favorite of three big favorites. This was making the rounds on Twitter last weekend and I’m sure it was bet a lot. You mean I get all three big favorites just to win at only -123??? As Jeff says below, what could go wrong?

I will at least give Circa credit for posting the NO with this bet as well. A lot of sportsbooks will post a wild multi-leg parlay and not offer any NO option with it. But you and I both know the YES side probably took on most of the action…people just can’t help themselves when they see they can get all the big favorites in one bet and barely lay any juice. They tweeted out that the YES was up to -130 the next day so the money was clearly coming in on the YES. And of course flash forward to the Lions falling flat on their faces as the Commanders pulled the road upset. Imagine that. I hate parlays, but I think I despise bettors putting together the big favorite ML parlays the most.

BIG BET OF THE WEEK
Million Dollar Wager

We saw some big bets during the CFB playoff, but mostly six figure bets. Well the ante has been raised for the AFC title game. Someone didn’t waste any time right after the Chiefs and Bills matchup next weekend was official:

A bettor at Caesar’s Palace fired a $1.3 million bet on the Chiefs ML this Sunday. The line for the game is low with the Chiefs currently -1.5 at FanDuel so I’m not sure if betting the moneyline here was the greatest move since they had to pay up to -130 juice for it, but whatever, obviously it comes down to if they’re on the right side or not. My thing is if this bettor was all about the Chiefs getting back to the Super Bowl, why not just throw down a big amount on them to win the Super Bowl back in the offseason when they were like 6-1? With the Chiefs being in 7 straight AFC title games, you’d be in the perfect spot to hedge once they get there.

I wonder if this bettor is a conspiracy theorist and believes the Chiefs are going to the Super Bowl because “that’s what the NFL wants” and “it’s rigged” and “the refs won’t let the Chiefs lose,” and all that nonsense. “The NFL wants Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl!!!” My quick take on the game is both teams are flawed and have issues and yes the Chiefs always seem to pull these games out and obviously know how to win close games like this one, but I feel like the Bills are finally going to get the better of them here. I’ll say this…if they don’t defeat the Chiefs in this game, I’m not sure they ever will in the playoffs. This is their best shot at them.

BAD BEAT
Horrific Beat in College Bball

This is probably the worst beat I’ve seen in a while and nothing in 2025 will likely top it. Let’s go to college bball for the battle between North Texas and East Carolina last week. For your viewing pleasure…

Yikes! Let me break this down since there was no audio in the video so it can be a little hard to follow. The total in the game was 128.5 and at 69-57, the under was a lock with North Texas content on running out the clock. Unfortunately if you had the under, there was apparently a 0.5 second difference between the game clock and shot clock. ZERO POINT FIVE! East Carolina gets the ball at half court for a meaningless half second. Most teams down 12 would just inbound it, let that half second run off and head for the locker room. Instead, ECU decided to launch a half court shot and he hit it killing the under. What a horrific beat. Now, I’m not sure how many degens had the under in this random midweek college basketball game, but if you did…woof. I’d be puking and giving up sports betting altogether. Just brutal. To add insult to injury, the clock had hit zero and the broadcast even put up a “FINAL” on the scoreboard. I’m not sure if this was the worst sports betting beat of all time, but I’m putting it in the top 5.

CONTESTS
APB’s Survivor Pool

I recapped the Circa Survivor and Circa Million contests in my previous newsletter, but I also wanted to recap the Survivor Pool that I ran again this football season. If you know me, you know I love Survivor pools and am always excited to run my own. This was my third season running the Annoyed Pit Boss’ Survivor Pool and we had our most entries yet at 292. It was a wild start too. After three weeks of upsets, we were down to just 14 entries total! Yes, that’s right…292 to 14 in just three weeks (I lost all 4 of my entries in those first 3 weeks too 😡). Then things slowed down and normalized as the remaining few settled in for the long haul. Two made it all the way to Week 18 with one taking the Broncos and the other taking the Falcons. The Falcons were upset by the Panthers and the Broncos rolled a Chiefs team that sat everyone and just like that—SK2 (@KellySk76) took home the title of sole Survivor! This was our biggest pool yet and also the first one to have multiple people go all the way to the last week.

Here was Scott’s road map to an undefeated Survivor year:

I laugh reviewing his path because if you notice he selected every playoff team EXCEPT…for my Steelers, haha. And no I don’t blame him for that! Congrats to Scott on one hell of a season! If you’re interested in joining our pool for next season, just keep following and reading and I’ll be sure to add the invite in this newsletter later in August this year.

CONTESTS
That’s it for this week’s Bet newsletter. Thanks again for everyone that subscribed and hope you’re enjoying the ride. I’ll leave you with a wild photo from the beach in Pensacola, Florida earlier this week. The snow and weather in the Southeast has been crazy! Have a great week, everyone!
